Baobar
About This Spot
Stepping into Baobar feels like discovering a hidden corner of Ein Gedi where time slows just enough to savor simple, heartfelt moments. Nestled quietly along an unnamed road, its welcoming aura blends seamlessly with the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape. Whether the sun is warming the outdoor tables or evening shadows begin to lengthen, the atmosphere here is relaxed and unhurried, inviting diners to pause and enjoy the unfolding day.
This is a cozy spot where local flavors meet comforting familiarity, the kind of place that feels like an extension of a friend’s table. The rich, earthy hues of eggplant tahini and the fresh vibrancy of herb-infused salad plates mingle with the soft fizz of carefully crafted drinks, creating a subtle harmony between taste and setting. Casual yet thoughtful, the menu’s offerings—from gently spiced shawarma to delicate pastries—feel rooted in tradition but touched by a modern, gentle creativity.
From the warm service to the way the space welcomes you to linger over a glass of wine or a cooling citrus tea, there’s an ease here that encourages connection—both with the food and the landscape just beyond the windows. It’s a place to arrive with no rush and leave feeling quietly replenished, as if the stories of the region subtly gather around your table alongside the dishes.

The food here was sooo good. I highly recommend the piatachio masabacha and the passionfruit slushies. Nice service, beautiful scenery.

Baobar is a great kosher cafe/restaurant/bar. Amazing food and fresh lemon tea with cinnamon stick truely warming and delicious. Pizza is the absolute best and can wait to dine there again tonight!

Fleeing from King Saul, David hides in the strongholds at Ein Gedi (1 Samuel 23:29 and 24:1–2) and Saul seeks him "even upon the most craggy rocks, which are accessible only to wild goats" (1 Samuel 24:2).
